1. Enhanced User Experience
A well-designed Shopify store is the foundation of your online business. It ensures that visitors have a seamless and enjoyable experience while navigating your website. An all-inclusive Shopify store design includes responsive web design, intuitive navigation, and aesthetically pleasing visuals. This leads to longer browsing sessions, reduced bounce rates, and increased chances of conversion.
2. Increased Visibility with Google Ads
Google Ads, a powerful pay-per-click advertising platform, allows you to reach potential customers at the exact moment they’re searching for products or services like yours. By carefully targeting keywords and demographics, you can maximize your ad’s visibility to the right audience, leading to higher click-through rates and conversions.
3. Cost-Effective Marketing
One of the major benefits of Google Ads is its flexibility. You have control over your budget, and you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. This means you can set a daily or monthly spending limit, ensuring you stay within your budget while still attracting potential customers. Additionally, the detailed analytics provided by Google Ads allow you to optimize your campaigns for even better results.
4. Long-Term Success with SEO
While Google Ads offer immediate results, a solid SEO strategy ensures your business remains competitive in the long run. SEO involves optimizing your website for search engines like Google, making it more likely to rank higher in organic search results. This means a steady stream of organic traffic without the need for ongoing advertising expenses.
5. Trust and Credibility
A well-optimized website that ranks high in search engine results conveys trust and credibility to your audience. Consumers tend to trust organic search results more than paid ads. Therefore, by investing in SEO, you’re not just attracting visitors; you’re also building a reputable brand image.
6. Comprehensive Analytics
Both Google Ads and SEO provide extensive analytics and data to help you understand your audience’s behavior. You can track the performance of your ads, monitor website traffic, and identify areas for improvement. This data-driven approach allows you to make informed decisions and refine your strategies over time.
7. Targeted Marketing
With Google Ads, you can target specific demographics, locations, and interests, ensuring your marketing efforts are directed at your ideal customers. This precision reduces wasted ad spend and increases the likelihood of conversions.
8. Adaptability and Scalability
An all-inclusive approach to Shopify store design, Google Ads, and SEO is adaptable and scalable. As your business grows, you can adjust your marketing strategies accordingly. This flexibility ensures that your online presence evolves in line with your business goals.
9. Competitive Edge
In today’s competitive digital landscape, an all-inclusive approach sets you apart from competitors who may focus on one aspect of online marketing. Combining Shopify store design, Google Ads, and SEO gives you a well-rounded competitive edge.
10. Measurable Results
Lastly, both Google Ads and SEO offer measurable results. You can track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and ROI. This allows you to assess the effectiveness of your strategies and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
In conclusion, the benefits of an all-inclusive approach that combines Shopify store design, Google Ads, and SEO are undeniable. It not only enhances the user experience but also drives targeted traffic, builds trust, and provides measurable results. By investing in this holistic online strategy, you’re positioning your business for sustained growth and success in the digital realm.

]]>Sure you could do a Product export but that may not contain the data you are looking for. So how can you find the data that you need easily?
Go to any Product page and simply add ".json" (without the quotes) to the end of the URL! Easy right?
The resultant screen looks like this:
I have underlined a few items of interest, namely the Page Handle, The Variant-ID and the Product-ID. Other cools things this screen shows are:
1. The Shopify template file name, "product.liquid" in this case
2. The product Vendor name defined on the Product screen in Shopify
3. The Fulfillment Service for this product
4. The Inventory Management method
5. Image Information (Height, Width and Source). The Source in this case is the Shopify CDN (Content Delivery Network) which is where Shopify stores all of your images, logos, etc.
As you can see, by simply adding the .json to the end of the Product url, we have access to a lot of information, most of which would not be present in a Shopify Product Export.

Here are the steps to follow in order to change your cart icon. This process will work for other themes as well, not just the Dawn theme.
When you look at the code that you copied into the icon-cart.liquid and the icon-cart-empty.liquid files you wil see the viewBox="-100, -175, 750, 750" parameters, such as in this example.
The fist number (min-x) is the relative position left to right in the header of the cart icon. Adjust it so that the cart icon is has the same spacing between the other icons in the header. You may use either a positive or negative number to move the icon left and right in the header area. The second number (min-y) moves the cart icon up and down, adjust this number so that the cart icon is in line with the other icon in the header.
The last two numbers are width and height. Note that this is inverse of what you might expect, the larger the number, the smaller the icon. Adjust these numbers so that the cart icon matches the size of the other icons.

]]>Google will happily convert your old UA account to GA4 for you, but in doing so, the automated process may not be the best way to move to GA4, especially if you have important properties to convert - so we recommend upgrading to GA4 yourself manually or hire a professional to do it for you.
If you have used GA4 to review data about your Shopify store, you may have seen a chart like the one below one. It includes some very important data, such as "Users by Screen Resolution Over Time". To access this information in GA4, simply login to your GA4 Account and, on the bottom left, you will see an option that says "Tech" with a drill-down arrow. Under the drill-down, click on Tech Details and the information about Engagement by Screen Resolution will be displayed as follows in this example.
So what exactly does this screen tell us?
The screen has interesting information about Visitors (New and Returning), Engagement Time and most importantly for our example, Average Engagement Time by Screen Resolution. Why is this important? Simply put, you can see if there is a problem with your Shopify store rendering on various devices and screen sizes.
For example, In the Tech Details Screen Resolution GA4 chart above on Line 6, you can see that the Avg Engagement Time for the device with a screen size of 414 x 896 was only 4 seconds. The question is why was the engagement time so short? We would expect that a well designed Shopify store, with an engaging home page that has a lot of useful information on it, would have a longer engagement time and 4 seconds is no where near enough time to read what's on the home page.
Perhaps, your Shopify website is not rendering correctly on a particular size screen and as a result, the visitor is leaving right away without even reading the information on the home page, causing you lost sales! How would you know if that is the case or not? Better yet, how on earth do you test all those device screen sizes without having to purchase several mobile devices which would be extremely cost prohibitive?
The solution is easy actually, and there is a feature in the Chrome Browser that lets you do the testing of various screen sizes free of charge! It's called Developer Tools. To use Developer Tools on your website, simply visit website on the internet, then go into Chrome Settings, More Tools and choose Developer Tools from the menu. After doing so you will see a screen like this:
Don't be intimidated by all the code on the right side of the screen, instead look on the left side of the screen, where the picture of your store is. Just above the picture is something called: "Dimensions Responsive". Simply change those two values for Width and Height to the sizes you want to test. In our example we want to see if our store renders properly when the screen size is set to 414 x 896. Change the Width and Height to each screen size shown in the GA4 screen and check that your website looks ok when set to that particular screen size. If it doesn't render properly on any particular screen size, you will need a Shopify Developer to fix it for you since it may involve coding.
In our case, the website looks just fine at the 414 x 896 screen size, so we are sure that the visitor didn't leave in 4 seconds because of a screen size issue. Perhaps he/she left because the website was not relevant to the search that the person conducted on Google or maybe, in our case as Shopify Website Designers, they were looking for a service that we do not offer, such as an Etsy website design. But at least we know the website looks fine when viewed at 414 x 896 screen size.

Yep, we have all been there. Your inkjet printer has been sitting on a shelf unused for months, or perhaps even only a few weeks. Then when you need to print out something essential, like your taxes or some sort of document that needs your immediate attention...
You add paper to the printer, turn it on and print your document just to find that it has streaks on the page or worse yet, is missing sections on the printed page!
]]>You add paper to the printer, turn it on and print your document just to find that it has streaks on the page or worse yet, is missing sections on the printed page!
It happened to me not too long ago. Except that it was a worse case scenario. I had sold something on E-bay and printed the shipping label. It "looked" like it was ok albeit very light, but when I brought the package to the Post Office to be scanned, the lady behind the counter couldn't scan it. "No problem" she said, as she commenced to punch the numbers into her hand-held scanner manually instead of using the bar code reader. Well 3-4 weeks later the purchaser complained that he never received the package. To my shock, the package was sitting at a downstream PO mail processing facility because it couldn't be scanned by the scanning equipment and, unlike my local post office, no one would scan it manually. Long story short (or is it too late!?), with the help of my local PO rep, it was tracked down to the processing center eventually and sent along it's merry way after several phone calls.
So now you are wondering why I am saying all this and how to solve the problem of dried out ink cartridges, or better yet how to prevent them from drying out at all no matter how long they sit around? Here is the secret....
Wrap & Suck Method: Take the ink cartridges out of your printer if you are not going to be using your printer for a while, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap, then put them in a vacuum seal bag like the one I used shown here. I then used a USB powered hand-held vacuum sealer (https://a.co/d/6uKojOE) to suck out all the air. Then when you need to print something, take them out, put them back in your printer and print away. When done, repeat the storage process.
These darn ink cartridges are so expensive, get dried out so quickly, and I am sick and tired of buying new ones when they cannot be "cleaned" by the printer in cleaning mode and yet are still full of ink. Oh, and 99% of the time you cannot clean them with a q-tip or with any other method that works reliably and consistently.
Try the "Wrap & Suck" method of preserving your ink cartridges yourself - IT WORKS!

It’s truly incredible considering that there was a time when women couldn’t legally own land and any wages they earned they weren’t allowed to keep or control!
The reasons why women that get into online store ownership choose to do so vary. In many cases it starts out of the potential financial stability that comes with it. Here are a few more reasons why.
Covid has led to many people being unemployed and stay-at-home orders and quarantine make it hard to generate an income. It is especially during these times that women and men alike are on the hunt for ways to make money from home.
Etsy and Marketplace may have paved the way leading to an avenue for e-commerce businesses but platforms like Shopify allow you to have your own website and content. Many people can come up with great ideas and products but creating a trusted online store and presence isn’t always so easy.
Which leads me to this. At the end of this article you will find an interview I gave to Rich Petrelli, founder and CEO of My Web Concepts. Rich is an expert in the e-commerce and website design field, having designed hundreds of websites for companies around the globe, and will provide some useful information for those of you who want to start your own online store.
When you peek into female-founded online stores you’ll find a variety of stores that sell all kinds of things, as well as services offered.
The main 7 are:
As I mentioned earlier, the financial freedom that can be obtained by owning and operating an online store is generally the main goal. That being said, something I’ve noticed is that female-founded companies usually inspire us to create solutions, solve problems, improve ourselves, and support other women.
Some of the goals I see is that they truly do want to inspire others to be healthier, stronger, better, and so much more. Empowerment is another huge word you see flying around female-founded online stores. Motivation is another.
Just look at Camille Newman, the founder and CEO of Pop Up Plus Inc. She shares her story of how she was looking for clothes, realized she got a little thicker, and wasn’t really finding anything trendy. Out of frustration she began a trendy clothing line specifically for plus-size women. There are many similar stories as to the why and how.
Money, motivation, inspiration, independence, sister-hood, and partnership all play a role in women’s online business goals. But there’s more to it.
Q: Why is it so important to have a well-designed website and online store?
Many people try building an online presence for their business on various e-commerce platforms and do not remember the old adage, “you only have one chance for a good first impression.” They take the time necessary to learn how to build a store by watching YouTube videos, do the necessary product research to find out what to sell, build their store, and then often wonder why they don’t get any sales. In most cases they are missing the point. The “Build It and They Will Come” presumption just doesn’t work any longer. There is too much competition out there and when all the smoke clears, people are only interested in a few things: Product Cost, Free Shipping, Loyalty Points, Rewards and Speed of Delivery. To be competitive, your store must offer some, if not all, of these incentives to both gain and retain customers. The sales process is an interesting equation and people primarily purchase goods for one or more of the following reasons:
Here at My Web Concepts, we realize that there are millions of e-commerce stores on the internet (and almost as many web development agencies out there world-wide), so our approach to the e-commerce world is a little different than most other development companies. Every customer of ours gets a dedicated Project Manager who ensures that the project stays on budget, and on task. The Project Manager is responsible for all client contact and scheduling, and for pulling in the appropriate MWC resources at just the right time in order to ensure the project gets completed in a timely manner and meets all client expectations. These resources typically are: Graphic Artists, Video Composers, Advertising Experts, Brand Promoters, and Store Designers/Developers.
MWC also does store audits, so if you have had your e-commerce store designed by another company and would like a second opinion, reach out to us via our Store Evaluation form and we will do an in-depth audit of your store and its performance, looking for areas that we can help make improvements to speed and performance. There is no obligation and the audit is provided free of charge.
Just have some questions you would like to ask us? Please feel free to use the Contact form on our website. Someone will get back to you via phone or email, typically within 24 hrs.
Q: Free website builder vs. Hiring a web designer?
There are many free and low-cost website builders out there and basically you get what you pay for. If you have a few products to sell and don’t require a complex website, do it yourself and save some money. But most people eventually get to a point where they get stuck and need professional help, even with small stores. As the store gets more complex, you will likely need to rely on a professional designer/developer for some help. Always do your research before hiring someone to help with your store design. Make sure you get references and have an opportunity to review the developer’s portfolio and rates before making a hiring decision.
Q: Can you assist with changing platforms?
It is not uncommon for stores to switch platforms for various reasons (e.g. Etsy to Shopify) and you can save yourself some time and headaches, by choosing a platform that you will not outgrow at the start of the project instead of having to convert the store to another platform in a few years because it cannot do what you want it to do or you have outgrown the platform. My Web Concepts has helped many clients switch to/from various platforms.
Q: What are some advantages of using Shopify?
Shopify is a great platform for many stores, but it is not the answer for all stores. There are pros and cons to all platforms and Shopify is no exception. For example, if you are looking for a Vlog type website, then Shopify is not the answer and you may want to consider a Wordpress website instead.
However, if you want a turn-key e-commerce store that scales easily and has built in basic SEO optimizations, Shopify would be the platform to choose. It has an excellent administrative back-end that is easy to learn and they have made it simple to manage orders, add products, handle shipping and fulfillment, and get your store up and running in a short period of time. Shopify also gives you access to the underlying files to customize your theme and create a unique shopping experience for your customers. There are also many apps on the Shopify app store that help to enhance the appearance and functionality of your store. Some apps are better than others, so be sure to do your research to ensure the app is well designed and has good reviews before you use it.
If you need assistance with your store design or coding, try to find a certified Shopify Partner. Many people claim to know Shopify well but partners have access to all of the latest development tools to customize your store and provide the ongoing support you need at reasonable rates. My Web Concepts is a Shopify Partner and we have designed hundreds of stores for clients around the world. We provide ongoing support and can also help with your Email Marketing, SEO, and Advertising needs.
For Email Marketing, we highly recommend Klaviyo with it’s Welcome Series and automated flows. Q: Have you seen an impact or effect from Covid in regards to e-commerce? If so has it been good or bad?
Covid has impacted all of us to some degree. Many brick and mortar stores have been closed and businesses are suffering all over the world because of stay at home orders, social distancing requirements, and other mandates that are necessary to keep people safe. Many of those businesses are stuck with inventory that they cannot move due to lack of foot traffic and are turning to online stores for a solution. My Web Concepts has been very busy since the advent of Covid, helping our clients avoid bankruptcy and to keep their businesses afloat in these difficult times by creating an affordable, online presence for them to sell their products and services. One such client is IllumeNYC. Illlume’ sells gorgeous custom-made lampshades and had a beautiful showroom in NYC with thousands of lampshades in stock prior to the pandemic. Due to Covid, the owner of Illume’ wanted to create an online presence for the business quickly, through Shopify, and immediately contacted Rich Petrelli at My Web Concepts for assistance. Within a few weeks the entire Illume’ lampshade inventory was online within Shopify. My Web Concepts created a beautiful, engaging, built-from-scratch store design and sales started coming in almost immediately once the store went live.

Q: Is the price range affordable and is there a monthly cost or just a one time fee?

If you need a larger, more complex store design, we have affordable packages for those services as well. Thinking about a customized theme for a unique shopping experience? However Shopify does have some great fraud detection features that can help safe-guard your store from fraudulent orders. Now add a little common sense and you should be able to determine if an order is fraudulent or not. My dad used to say regarding old prescriptions, "When in Doubt, Throw It Out!" and the same principle applies to suspicious looking orders in Shopify.
So you just received an order on your Shopify store that looks suspicious, what do you do?
The final decision whether or not to fulfill the order is yours alone. After looking at all of the pertinent information about the purchaser you will need to make that decision. If something doesn't seem right, cancel the order.
When in Doubt, Throw It Out!
